Dear John,
You must have missed my posting a week or so ago about aspirin. I tried it
out as soon as I read about it on CITOYEN and EASTER LACE (two iris that
are so frost or freeze tender here that I have yet to see a bloom on either
one!) and two clumps of arilbreds. I used 2 aspirin per gallon of water.
The temps dropped 40 degrees in 2 hours. Now, this was just a one time
thing, but none of those clumps sustained any sort of damage. The aspirin
water was applied 12 hours in advance of the temp drop. Sure has
possibilities for me. I'm going to try it on BC, luminatas and other
arilbreds as well as any frost tender iris known to me in my garden.
