CAT: Schreiner's, TALL TALK

From: "Walter Moores" <wmoores@watervalley.net>

Good morning, iris talkers!

Yesterday, Schreiner's catalog arrived and STARSHIP ENTERPRISE made
its debut via a watercolor rendition. This was somewhat of a letdown
as a watercolor artist may or may not have captured S E in its full
glory. I know for I have a watercolor of GAY PARASOL by a noted
watercolorist, and everyone who visits and sees this watercolor says,
'That is not GAY PARASOL.' Well, the form and the lace are there,
but the color the artist used is much too light in the falls. I
presented the stalk of GP to the artist, so I know she used it as a
model.

In today's mail, there is the March issue of TALL TALK with a
color ad from Schreiner's which includes a photograph of STARSHIP
ENTERPRISE. Anyone can see the differences! I like them both and am
in awe at what an artist can capture with a brush, but for accuracy's
sake, I prefer a photo from an expensive camera in the hands of a
good photographer. Thank you Schreiner's for both and for the
opportunity to compare.

p.s. What a glorious issue of TALL TALK this is - The cover is as
slick as the Schreiner's cover! Send for your issue today. Ruth
Simmons, did you do all of this? Amazing job.
