Anner and other iris talkers, I have been away for awhile in Tennessee
(where I didn't see any irises blooming, but did find one nice horse) but I
am not at all sure about this Tall Bearded (section or society?) and AIS
impasse. I have been told that some members of the Tall Bearded ? do not
want to belong to the AIS anymore, but want instead to have their own
organization and hold dual conventions, awards, etc. I would not know
about this at all. Seems they have some very credible people on their
board to me that surely would not want to harm the AIS. I for one wish the
powers that be would decide whether it is a section, or a society, that
peace be made between them and the AIS, so I can join up! I know that I
can grow TB iris, and I like to read reviews on them, though what age an
iris is, is unimportant to me. I like old and new. The AIS bulletin does
cover a broad range of iris (which is good to my way of thinking) but I do
think it is dominated by TBs, and certainly, there is more varietal
coverage of and advertising of, TBs than any other class. I really love
the AIS and all of its sections and societies; unity would seem to be very
important here, and I cannot see why it won't be achieved.

intercepted and probably deleted by my husband at work for a few
days...drat!! Will miss you all.
