Ruth, it is great to hear the straight story about this matter. Thank you for
your candor.
I have been wondering why AIS requires Section members to be AIS members. It
does limit membership to these groups as well as the Sections' ability to have
adequate dues to pay expenses for publications, etc. It also allows AIS to
control the activities of the Sections to some degree, it would seem. Isn't
it a shame that issues like this that arise in groups take up the time we
would all prefer to spend enjoying our hobbies? However, it is a rare group
indeed that hasn't had its share of such difficulties. Perhaps it is
inevitable...part of the "human condition". I hope it can be worked out to
the satisfaction of both groups.
