Linda, thanks for some great new ideas about how to protect sensitive buds!
I have never thought of using milk or cola containers filled with water
for extra protection. I will try this method immediately on TIGER HONEY,
BEWILDERBEAST, EASTER LACE and CITOYEN. As for fall bloomers with tall
stalks, I usually sacrifice my tomato plants and take their 4' rebar cages
from them. These I put over the reblooming clump and cover that with an
empty paper feedbag from my horse barn. Works great, except I don't have
as many tomato cages as rebloom clumps, so I have to pick and choose. If
it gets really nasty, you can add a sheet or blanket.
