Linda, I don't know about royalties on your cola bottle idea, but I bet
some more people in our local club will give it a try. I use Wall O Water
tubes faithfully every spring to set out tomato plants. I always have
tomatoes in June. I am not your typical irisarian; next to irises my
favorite plants are tomatoes! I have seed from many types from lots of
countries and try different (mostly open pollinated) varieties each year.
I thought of using Wall O Water tubes on reblooming iris, but my clumps are
usually too big for them. Not being as imaginative as you, I never even
thought about cola bottles. I just thought of a bigger Wall O Water tube!!
I just ordered some LAs from Perry Dyer last year. To my surprise, they
have stayed green all winter. Is this typical? They are not in a
particularly protected area (reserved for rebloomers, arils, arilbreds, or
something new that might be fussy!).
