   The way it reads now, older varieties ARE eligible for Queen of
Show - but if there are two specimens of equal quality, you give the
nod to the newer cultivar. This is to promote advances in hybridizing.
   This came from E. Roy Epperson, who I heard give a talk on changes
in the Judge's Handbook last year.
