HYB: Greenies du Jour?

From: HIPSource@aol.com

Our Borer, in fine fettle, said,

<< And may be Luck of the Iris be with ye >>

But of course. And let's hear it for blarney, the commodity which oft fuels
this forum.

Does anyone think it might be nice to have a list of the finer so called
"green" irises? We've discussed this here before from the standpoint of which
was the "greenest" available, and possibly we wore the subject out, but we
sure did not talk about all of them, and most of what we discussed were TBs,
as I recall.

Now, green is a relative thing in irises, and some say it must not be confused
with dull yellow or chartreuse, which I observe is a color named for a
legendary firewater which comes in two forms, one much greener than the other.
But the Irish say that Ireland contains ten thousand shades of green, or some
such elevated number, so perhaps we might be inclusive on just this one
occasion.

I'll mention a few obvious names. Perhaps somone else will mention a few less
obvious, even some greenish beardless ones? Some oncos? The littles? I'd also
like to hear about some of those 'green' Austins if anyone knows them.

EVERGREEN HIDEAWAY (TB), KERMIT (IB), KING OF KINGS (white SIB, green
infusion) and Hermodactyllus tuberosus.
