I have used the P-touch for the last 6 years. The labels last longer than
the metal markers.

I wanted to identify the different types of iris by using different colors
for each variety. I used the white labels for tall bearded, blue for border
bearded, red for intermediate bearded, yellow for standard dwarf and miniature
dwarf, gray for siberians and green for spurias.

Over the years the yellow has faded to white and the red has faded to a dull
pink. All others colors have withstood the sun, the rain and the snow. Even
when the fading occured the black letters remained.

I have contacted Brothers to see if there would be a reason for the fading
for only the yellow and red, but they had no answer or reasoning for this
occurance. So far they have not been very helpful. I will continue using the
labels but must find a new color for the yellow labels.

I list the cultivars name on row 1, hybradizer and the year of introduction
on row 2 all labels. I have also begun to list on row number 3 the dyke
award and year an iris has won.

The labels are very readable, I have some that have lasted over 5 years and
the color labels helps others to dissiminate the different types of iris.
They are well worth the money.
