I'll personally vouch for Heaven's Edge (Tompkins 96). It was one of the
great "sleepers" here and will appear in my next edition of Contemporary
Views, (IF I EVER GET IT WRITTEN!!). Clean, sharp coloration. Wonderful
form. Good substance. Very fine first-year branching and bud count.
Acceptable growth habits. Ironically it was an extra (which I had hinted
for) on an order I placed directly with Chet. First time I had ever ordered
from him, in all these years. Well, the one I ordered (sight unseen, one of
my whim-orders) turned out to be ugggggly (no names mentioned, OK), but both
extras I received (H.E. and a wonderful brightly colored red on yellow plic,
Figure Head from '96) more than made up for the disappointment of the iris
ordered.
