I wish all catalogs would rank irises 1-3 on how well they perform in
the growers garden/production area. Or even 1 or 2. Then I could get
catalogs from hot zones (7 to 9) and dry zones and wet zones and cold
zones (less than 7) and compare lists and find what will grow in all my
'climates'.
The really old Schreiner catalogs had a ton of this kind of
information. Maybe it adds too much to the expense of producing the
catalogs.
Irises look so good this year. I think I am feeling a bud forming in
PERFUME COUNTER already. Can this be?
