TB: unanswered rebloom question

From: Linda Mann <lmann@icx.net>

A while back, someone asked the same question that I keep trying to get
more information on - exactly what is it that triggers rebloom? I don't
think there were any replies, so I thought I'd just comment that this is
one of those hard to answer questions. 'We' know that under the right
conditions of growth, resulting from the right conditions of moisture,
temperature, nutrition, &? daylength?, ?pattern of temperature?,
?pattern of stress/nonstress? that different cultivars will rebloom.
And we know there are different TYPES of rebloom that are controlled by
genetics (spring fall rebloom vs continuous rebloom under the 'right'
conditions). But what we don't know is why some cultivars rebloom
sometimes in our gardens and not others or how to duplicate the
conditions that trigger rebloom more reliably.

So, whoever asked the question - do some experiments and help the rest
of us.
