I think your comments were pretty accurate, including the disastrous weather
conditions for the Dickeys and the fact that they were surely overwhelmed
with going through about a zillion new and reselect seedlings at Monty's.
He was certainly a fertile chap. The Dickeys ARE still "around", I'm sure.
We received some convention guests from her, quite late, last year, for this
year's national convention. I do not believe I received a '98 catalog,
either. At least I don't have them listed in my database for '98, nor do I
find their catalog in their file.
If I'm not terribly mistaken, his partner (Gibbs, I believe was the name) is
now also deceased, probably the reason the Dickeys were left in charge with
the stock. If I've gotten any of this wrong, y'all, please let me know so I
can remove foot from mouth!
