I tend to agree.  On another positive note, along with making an outstanding
bloom display, VF is one of those irises that seem to grow well everywhere.
Very gardenable.  If you've got an overgrown bed with only one clump of fans
sticking thru the weeds or grass, chances are it's Victoria.

VF also frequently sends up fall stalks ealy enough to escape the first hard
freeze.  Like Inferno and others, it's most likely to do this when it receives
extra water--heavenly or hosely.  The fall of 87 I had a stalk that looked
like a small shrub.  I quit counting blooms at 17.
