Re: High Blue Sky-welcome

Hello Kim,
First of all welcome! Great to hear that you have had a good iris year in
ST. Louis. I think that there are a few folks in your area on this iris
list. I am sure they will speak up. Nothing like a good bloom season to
fuel the iris fever. :-) No offense taken, as a commercial garden we get
that question quite a bit. There a ton of economic reasons why a new iris
cost what it does. If you want I can go into them but it might bore you.
High Blue Sky was a Cooley's introduction in 1998, you were fortunate to get
it as a gift. It was listed for $40 in their 1999 catalog. A nice pale
blue from Cooley's that has done well here.
Once again, welcome
Sincerely
Mike Sutton
Sutton's Iris Gardens
Porterville, CA USA
USDA zone 8 - experiencing the coolest May ever, where the high for the day
has averaged 15 degrees below normal....brrrrrrr! Sure has extended the
bloom season. :-) MDBs SDBs IBs MTBs TBs Spurias Species LAs and Japanese
are all blooming.
