On changed promounciations: I will never forget when we, as a family, were
in South Dakota(?) and I said something about we were looking for the
capitol in Pierre, carefully pronouncing it the French way, (we had
the children, and this was part of their education, and we took pictures of
State Capitols). No one could understand us! they pronounce it "peer" or
something like that. Rosalie nr Baltimore,USA ryfigge@aol.com soon to be
enroute to Disney World for a family reunion, ages from 6 months to me!)
