Re: SPEC: Holden Clough

Randy, 'Holden Clough (pronounced "cluff")' is the parent of 'Roy Davidson'
and 'Phil Edinger' and a descendent of Iris pseudacorus. My experience and
also judging from the beautifully grown clumps of all three I saw recently
in northern California and Oregon leads me to believe that unlike their
ancestor, Holden, Roy and Phil are not water irises, but do well under good
garden conditions--continually moist, organic-rich soil, but no standing
water. All three hybrids are very permanent plants, rarely need to be
moved, and will rapidly increase into large, large clumps.
