CULT:natural immunity

From "lurkdom".
Here in NY state, my iris are planted in less than perfect conditions, to
say the least.
Half a day of sun, clay soil that I have tried to improve, borers, etc.
While my iris that have been around for decades do well, blooming and
increasing with little care, I have many newer TB's which seem to fall prey
to everything. The borers, leaf spot, botrytis and other fungal rot affect
most.
I try to fight back, as time permits, by keeping the gardens weed and leaf
free and have used Cygon, as a last resort, and lots of Comet.
However, there are some clumps that seem to do much better than others at
warding off these problems. One example would be NIGHT RULER.
I would imagine that this quality would be a #1 priority in hybridizing.
My question finally: is there any reference list of the most vigorous and
disease resistant iris?
Would anyone care to post their best candidates.
