Jan,
       When this topic first started, I mentioned using lighter colored pots 
[white if possible--even if painted white] because of our high daytime 
temperatures.  Here, temperatures of 90 F can occur any time of the year.  
Although winter freezes are frequent here, they are usually not so brutal as 
to raise hardiness concerns for TB Irises.
