RE: CULT: When do you separate rebloomers?

Trial & error may be your best mentor. In southern California I hate
planting new iris before the summer starts to end (in September or October
for us). Since my new purchases usually arrive in July, I often pot them up
and leave them in the shade of the house. I often have faster "takes" on
iris transplanted in February or March, though this may stunt or curtail the
bloom. Rot is certainly reduced for me by transplanting in more moderate
weather during the early phase of a new growth cycle. I realize that my
growing conditions are very different from most of the country, so my best
approach will be very different that what might work best for someone else.
