I take most of the trashed named varieties to sales, or if I think
one is too horrid, I toss it across the fence and then later run over
the rhizomes with the lawnmower.
All culled seedlings are dug and then shredded by the lawnmower. I
used to let club members take seedlings when they were visiting the
garden, but I had too many of these culled seedlings show up next
year at the show by somebody who wanted to enter them. Or, I was
pestered for years by somebody who kept some wanting to know if I had
ever named them. Thank goodness for the riding lawnmower! No culled
seedling escapes it.
