I've always felt that the hardest irises to buy from catalog pictures are
the blues and purples.  Blues in particular rarely are as intense as their
pictures.  Now if someone COULD come out with an iris that was electric
blue then I'd definitely buy it (of course..... it'd never get to Australia
then though <grin>.

I certainly does make it difficult to weigh up the relative merrits of a
couple of irises when you can't trust the pictures...... particulary when
you read some of the descriptions.  I don't know WHERE they get some of
their words.  I think that the people who write the descriptions must have
a Thesaurus with them at all times (please no-one take offence at
that........ but there are some particularly amazing descriptions of some
pretty drab flowers out there <big grin>)
