I usually wait until the first bloom is well open before I cut the stalk.
The other blooms will open indoors if you trim the stem and change the water
every other day or so.

If the cultivar is one that typically has 8-10 buds per stalk, I will wait
longer to let the less mature buds develop more.

Though I am now in California, I grew up near Lansdale. What area are you
