I said:
<I have a beautiful, tough, reliable rejected seedling from a local
hybridizer, given away during one of our plant sales before we were told
we 'shouldn't' do that (official word from AIS).>
and Walter Moores asked:
<Is this a new policy of AIS?>
Oh boy, here we go relying on my patchwork memory - all I remember is
being at one of our club meetings & somebody either reading a letter
from our RVP, or maybe from their notes from a regional meeting or maybe
a judge's training, or ? input of some sort from outside of our
club...maybe guidelines for club activities or suggestions for new clubs
or.....something having to do with club sales & the statement being made
that we needed to stop releasing un-named seedlings to the general
public.
I suspect it isn't an AIS policy - more likely a 'suggestion', &
possibly a 'suggestion' within our region specifically directed at us??
Who knows... I'm sure it's in our club Secretary's notes somewhere. I
will see if I can find out the source.
