One of my first seedlings has a lovely rich purple flower (like plenty of
others on the market), with incredible substance. The blooms lasted for a
week each. It grows very tall, has heaps of blooms and increases well.
On the downside, the horizontal falls are just that - stick straight out
like cardboard. You had to stand on tiptoe, to look properly into the
flower. The stalks are almost 2" thick at the base, and stand stiff like
tree trunks.
Many, many people admired it, because it was growing right outside my back
door, and stood out so clearly. They also admired it's 2 siblings, which
they thought were just the same plant, even though much shorter, with less
increase, less bloom, and less substance.
I won't be passing that one on to anyone. I don't wish to get a reputation
for growing 5' irises which need to be cut with a chainsaw.
cheers, Jan clark
