Thank you for all the nice comments about the new Iris Moose photo website.
I also must apologize to those people visiting the site with Netscape. The
site will not load the larger images in the pop-up windows if you are using
the Netscape browser. I will fix this problem at a later date and recommend
you use Explorer right now to fully enjoy what the site offers.
All the pictures were taken by me using the Nikon Cool Pix digital camera.
The originals are at 300 dpi and the images on the website are 72 dpi. I
use Macromedia Fireworks 4 to prepare my images for the web. There is no
manipulation of any kind to the pictures other than the picture borders and
my name to the larger images.
Some mentioned that PELE looked like a tall beard. It is not. It appears
that way because I shot all the images with a macro lens to show as much
bloom detail as possible. It does make the little ones look like big ones.
I do have some elaborate plans for this website but will not be working on
the site again until the Fall. Right now I simply want to use the site to
show some of my iris photography. I hope to expand the gallery section to
quite a few more cultivars next season.
I also plan on allowing anyone that wishes to download the larger photos
(they are ~350 pixels wide) to use them freely on their websites or for
their personal records. This will be part of the upgrade this Fall.
On Tuesday morning I am leaving for a two week trip to Texas, Louisiana, and
Mississippi to attend two regional daylily meetings and visit as many
gardens as I possibly can.
Happy Blooms!!
