Glad. communis subs byzantinus is a small hooded electric pink Gladiolus
from memory. Nothing at all like a Watsonia. Watsonias tend to be in the
3-6 foot high range (one of our gardening clients had the most amazing
white Watsonia that topped 7 foot most years. Absolutely stunning),
whereas this Glad is 18inches. The flowers have a distinct hood and three
lower petals. Amazing colour.
I think I'm thinking of the right variety. Either way, it is a miniature
Gladiolus and way smaller than Watsonias
