Hello All,
I had to laugh when I read this post....I too am a disabled
gardener...suffer from osteoporosis,,the bone breaking form...and now from
glaucoma...makes for interesting days but I still havent learnt to slow
down, hence more accidents than are probably unnecessary but hey you only
live once.As to breaking handles on tools...I have so far managed to totally
destroy strong willow handles on my large spades, shovels axes and now
mattock...Grr.and as for my large garden fork...Well the handle is fine but
the tines look like Yuri Geller has been at work... How to solve the
problem..Dont bother gardening in Gippsland in Summer...Especially when
there is a long drought...oh and dont think of using a crow bar..That has
had a new look too.I used the ute..you call it a truck.. to tow it out when
I got it jammed in the dirt I was trying to dig and it will never look the
same...I like the posts regarding sunscreen. Definately an essential item
here in Aus,, just wished it didnt cost so much....Cheers for now, Wendy
Sargeant, Zone 8ish Australia...P.S. Thanks for the amusing posts....Given
me a lot of cheer on some tough days.
