I'd let 'em dry in the pod.  I've done it before, but I can't remember if I
had germination problems with the seeds or not.  I can sympathize.  I lost
two of my best pods (on Double Dribble) this year to some critter that et
'em.  Can't figure out why or how he got around all the other iris with
pods, and chose this one.  He ate one one day, and the other a couple of
days later.  No sign or damage anywhere else, including 3 other pods on
Double Dribble (not the same crosses, though).
