The chances are pretty good if it's been a full month since you set the pod.
Either way, it's worth the trouble. Unless the seed are small and immature
when dry, you won't be able to tell for sure until they sprout (or not) in
the spring. I always leave my early birds in the pod unless they start to
"slime" in which case I put the seed in a colander and rinse thoroughly to
remove said slime. You'll know what I mean, if it happens to you.
