Hi everyone. . .
A few weeks ago I crossed MEZMERIZER with THORNBIRD using THORNBIRD's
anther which had a very sparse amount of pollen (as is usually the case
in my yard) and surprise. . . it took! I now have the loveliest pod
growing on MEZMERIZER!
But is it unusual to have any success with THORNBIRD? I've heard that
it is, and when my brother (in Missouri) tried to cross it with
something a few years back, he got a nice pod. . . with absolutely no
seeds in it. Is THORNBIRD sterile. . . or is there such a thing? Can
anyone tell me what I can expect of this pod?
Just some questions from a true novice in the field of horticulture. .
. After all, I'm an artist and mostly admire them for their beauty!
