Don't know much about 'Thornbird,' but my impression is that
'Mesmerizer' is highly pod fertile. In this garden it is the only TB
that routinely sets "bee pods" without being hand-pollinated. I have
seedlings that MAY, repeat MAY, be from Mesmerizer x Chanted.
'Chanted'is a pink SDB with a blue beard. In cool weather, the beard
and flounce of 'Mesmerizer' have a definite blue-lavender tint.
So.....
By the way, the last 3 blooms of 'Mesmerizer' opened today. The
first blooms appeared on April 22nd. A full 4 weeks of bloom from a
single variety.
