Reading this post I had a thought. You might be able to find an old
Adressograph plate maker; made the plates that people used to use for
mailing lists. I'd bet they're rather obsolete with the advent of computers
and could be picked up for a song. They emboss the name, etc. into the
metal plate.

Have been reading the correspondence re: "tags for irises."
Can anyone advise me as to where I can find plant markers - markers to stick
into the ground on which is printed information as to various plants? I
think I have read that there is an English firm which sells a "pressing
device" so that one can actually press letters into metal as opposed to
applying plastic labels.
I would appreciate any help. Thank-you!
