COMP: other iris lists

I received a private message from a member of this list about
the Sibrob list that contained inaccurate information.

This list started in March 1996 with 6 members at the urging of
Libby Cross and we now have 261 members. I have the first few
years of posts on diskettes. Hortnet didn't start archiving the
posts until later. I have changed my sig. line to more
accurately present this info.

Sibrob was started when Tom Little was the owner of the
predecessor of this list named iris-l. Anybody that was a member
then might remember the small controvery that swirled around
Sibrob's inception. 

Tom was a stalwart supporter of a specialized iris list and I
will always be grateful for his kindness and encouragment both
privately and publicly.
