I "should" know this by now, but when should I expect to see borer
damage start to show up?
Last year was the first time I saw the infamous borer here, & I can't
remember when damage first appeared. No treatment, other than burning
the thicket of big bluestem, blackberries and mess next to the iris
rows, and torching a few really big clumps of iris with a lot of
accumulated dead foliage.
No evidence of borers so far.
I do remember DUSKY CHALLENGER being in bloom while borers were chewing
on it, so maybe it's still too early?
