Linda -- We're seeing borer damage already here. I can tell by your post
that, although we are north of you, you are at a higher elevation, so your
bloom apparently is behind. (My SDBs are about bloomed out; my IBs are at
peak, and I have several TBs in bloom.) Nonetheless, borers start their
journey up the outer edge of the leaves as soon as a warm day arrives, and
you've probably had some by now. I applied Merit this year for the first
time, and, so far, I see no borer evidence. The damage I spoke of above is
to a friend's garden. -- Griff
