Re: TB: overwhelmed

I went out this morning and counted bloomstalks. I hit 30 just in the
front flowerbed. For a suburban yard with more lawn than flowerbed,
I'm pretty darned pleased with that. Every single rhizome in the bed
was divided and replanted last summer, so to see so many potential
blooms is thrilling to me.

I even saw a tiny bloomstalk on IMMORTALITY, from which I'd expected
no bloom this year... the fans are rather small compared to the
others, and it took a while to establish itself.

I'm rather new to the growing of iris, so I'm still utterly astounded
by the ability of nature to establish itself and reward my benign
neglect with the potential for beautiful flowers.
