I have a question about bud count. Can bud count increase as the plant
becomes better established?
Some things remain variable. Some judges have complained that Dusky
Challenger should not have won the Dykes because it only has 4 buds!! At my house,
it may have four buds, but when it does they are huge and only 1 bud per
branch & terminal. When it has 7 buds the blooms are a bit smaller. It will
vary from year to year.
I'm sure it is grown different from time to time, but I couldn't be
specific. Some things vary that are beyond my control:rain fall, temperatures, etc..
