OT-CHAT: hazards of hybridizing

Betty has bears and cougars in her neighborhood, Donald has copperheads
(and rattlesnakes?), and I've been being buzzed all day by police
helicopters searching for the guy who killed the deputy and his friend
last night a couple of miles from here.  Yesterday and this morning,
they were searching farther away than they have been this afternoon -
now they are flying right over the irises.

Unsettling, to say the least!
