Here in Southern Ontario we get lots of cool nights which seems to help rebloom. The plants don't get extra water, just not set up to be able to do that., but the ones planted in wetter area of garden do rebloom more.
I find that rebloomers do best if divided often. Two years seems to be about right. Early moving seems to be best, about two weeks after first bloom finished.
Cut off fall stocks on just moved plants, or on newly acwiured plamts
Trim off spent or started and frozen flower stocks from fall or attmpted fall rebloom. Stalks not trimed will produce rot in spring.
