Christian, it is just my term.  There are lots of different terms that  fit 
many different types of plicatas but I've not learned most of them.   I've been 
razzled and dazzled and overwhelmed with terminology, but not  educated!

LACED COTTON is a plicata, but you have to know what to look for to  identify 
it.  To some it just looks white.  This was what I was  referring to when I 
said "hidden plicata."  There are plicata markings on  the hafts.  Also, when I 
bred plicata to it I got faint or pale  plicatas.  Autumn Encore with LC gave 
laced pale brown plicatas.   Quite interesting.  
 
The plicata genes are tricky creatures.  Well, interesting at  least.
