Personal size envelopes, but smaller ones would have worked.

Oh!!! The larger sticky notes (Post it type) are really good for pollen.
With sticky edge down and up. . . fold twice reducing the size to 1/3. Write
the name of the iris on the center fold. Place pollen in the envelope.
Sticky edge should seal the bottom if you made the fold right! Then I do a very
small fold on each end, just for insurance. I tend to OVER do everything!
Found this on the Internet and really like it. Small enough and big enough!

<<Do you mean the pollen did not rest on the powdered milk because the
pollen was in envelopes?>>

Yes. Pollen on powered milk tends to look very similar??? No??

<<Did you scrape the pollen from the anthers into the envelope?>>

No! You think I'm a spring chicken?? How would I find the pollen when I
need it?? <vbg> 2 hour drying seems to dry the body of the anther, also.
Seriously, I use the anther as transportation and I need the end to grasp. I
don't use paint brushes or swabs! Fingers only.

<<Same routine didn't work this year with IMMORTALITY pollen collected
last fall. But she is so fussy, I'm not surprised.>>

Last fall, IMMORTALITY pollen did form, but was not taking on anything.
Either it was soaked in our constant dew, or it just wasn't fertile. I didn't
try to save any of it.
