Dear Anner,
I have used the Brother P touch labels and was very disappointed. I tried them for 2 years in a row and I won't use them again. Almost every label I used faded within a year. Thank heaven I had a backup map system on my computer and on paper. I currently use the paw paw everlast (metal) labels. I have used three different kinds of markers on them. 1. the sharpie, which also fades but not as quickly as the brother labels. 2 the black permanent marker, which also fades like the sharpie, and 3. the black china markers. For me they stay pretty steadfast. I do however need to remark my labels after 3-4 years. As for the cut up plastic window blinds I've never used them, so I couldn't tell you about them.
Hope that this helps. Now it's time to go back in my garden to do more work.

Greetings.
I appreciate that folks are busy but I'd like to know what the current
wisdom is with regard to labels, please.
More specifically, I'd like to know whether those of you who have used the
Brother P-Touch label making system still are happy with it, and which current
models of same, and which labels have proven the most satisfactory and
durable over time.
Also, I'd like to know what pen those of you who use a pen-marked label are
finding best these days. At one time there was much said of a "paint marker"
style obtainable from Walmart as opposed to the Sharpie which fades long
term. Is this still the case? Are you still using the cut up plastic window
blinds?
Anyone got any sort of a new system that is economical and really
satisfactory long-term that they would care to recommend? I'm not talking about maps.
Thank you so much.
Cordially,
Anner Whitehead
