Re: CULT: Stopping Roundup

Kitty,

Around here, it is hard to kill healthy mature irises with roundup. It's even hard to kill unwanted irises with roundup. It usually takes several applications. I've a section where I pulled out the seedlings I want, then sprayed the rest with Roundup. I've gone over them at least twice. Some have died and some haven't.

It is instant death to young seedlings. They react like grass. Did get a couple by accident one year.

Alex, I'm surprised at what you are saying. Roundup seems to kill just
about everything for me. Are you saying you can spray a full TB clump with
Roundup, in a normal fashion, and it won't kill it? I'm puzzled.
Kitty

I use Roundup all the time, and I often get it on my iris. It affects the bloom form and slows the growth for about 2 weeks, but otherwise it does not hurt my healthy plants. I wouldn't recommend it on seedlings or sick plants.
