Re: PHOTOS: tip on labeling


My camera is a cheap point and click, so it's always autofocus (sometimes not so great).

I hold the camera a couple of feet from the label, then zoom as close as I can get it. Sometimes temporarily pull the label and lie it on the ground to get a clearer shot.

Then take the flower pix.

After loading the pictures from my camera, I use either Windows explorer or that other thing windows XP has for looking at photo thumbnails, to relabel the photo files with the name of the iris.

If the label isn't legible on that screen, I open the label photo in my photo software, crop and resize the label photo into something big enough to read in Explorer thumbnail mode.

As others suggest, <add> the name to the number, at least until you are done, so you can keep track of which label goes with which photo (they will be numbered in sequence).
