The Handbook fore Judges and Show Officials, pg 3 para 2 says "a written test of at least 10 questions per hour of training".
I have always been given and always give open book tests.Training can only be given by accredited judges and must be pre- approved by the regional training chair. In order to be a judge you must have a current Handbook.
