Perhaps the hardiest of the Evansias is Iris tectorum alias "Roof iris of
Japan." I had grown it back in New Jersey with no problem from heavy freezing
and it grows like a weed out here in Oregon. Most of the Evansias should
cause you no problem in your growing area.
