Bob: There should be no change of color in iris even if they are only 3 years
old.  What you may be experiencing (if you see a color change) is a change in
soil pH.  I have found that with a more acid soil that light blue iris will
appear to be darker and if the soil is more to the alkaline side the blue
color will be lighter.
