Angie, welcome to iris-l. Your self-confessed should remind all of
us that we all fit that description. It's just that some are
ignorant about one thing, others about another. There are lots of
people on this list who are iris experts, but all of us have more we
can learn. That's what makes the list so great: it's a wonderful
learning tool. Meanwhile, please don't hesitate to ask questions
when there are things you want to know. As a teacher I tell my
students that there is no such thing as a dumb question if it is an
honest one. The dumb thing is to want to know or need to know and
yet not ask. And if you ask, chances are there's somebody more shy
who wants/needs to know the same thing but was afraid to ask it.
Along that line, of learning something new, let me ask you a
question. I was told just yesterday by a student of a beautiful
garden/park/arboretum/whatever in the Kansas City area, supposed to
be an especially fine and well-known place, very lovely. She knew
nothing more than that she'd been there with her family a couple
years ago, was really impressed. Can you tell me more? Name,
general location, etc. She didn't know if there were iris there or
not, only knew it was big and beautiful, lots of walking paths. As
this may have nothing to do with iris, perhaps it would be best to
reply directly to my e-mail rather than over the list.
Again, glad to have you on the list.
