I've already bothered Clarence and John with this one and still haven't
gotten a lead, so I thought I'd give the list a try.
I'm looking for George Bush's Japanese iris, 'Heavenly Skies'
(registered '83, never introduced). As George tells the story, he sent
all he had for display gardens for a convention, thinking that he would
get a piece back. He didn't get it back and he assumed that it was lost.
When Clarence showed the SJI slides at the Susquehanna Iris Society
meeting in March, George was thrilled to see that a slide of "Heavenly
Skies' was in the rack. I would like to surprise George with the plant,
if it can be located. Perhaps one of you have it lurking in your garden
and would share it with the breeder--or know someone who has it.
Rich Randall, who maintains a list of rare JAPs has not come up with any
leads.
I would appreciate any leads.
Thanks
